Red Bull Stratos

Red Bull Stratos
Mission to the Edge of Space and Supersonic freefall.

Red Bull Stratos, a mission to the edge of space, will attempt to transcend human limits that have existed for 50 years. Supported by a team of experts Felix Baumgartner plans to ascend to 120,000 feet in a stratospheric balloon and make a freefall jump rushing toward earth at supersonic speeds before parachuting to the ground. His attempt to dare atmospheric limits holds the potential to provide valuable medical and scientific research data for future pioneers.

The Red Bull Stratos team brings together the world's leading minds in aerospace medicine, engineering, pressure suit development, capsule creation and balloon fabrication. It includes retired United States Air Force Colonel Joseph Kittinger, who holds three of the records Felix will strive to break.

Joe's record jump from 102,800 ft in 1960 was during a time when no one knew if a human could survive a jump from the edge of space. Joe was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and had already taken a balloon to 97,000 feet in Project ManHigh and survived a drogue mishap during a jump from 76,400 feet in Excelsior I. The Excelsior III mission was his 33rd parachute
jump.

Although researching extremes was part of the program's goals, setting records wasn't the mission's purpose. Joe ascended in helium balloon launched from the back of a truck. He wore a pressurized suit on the way up in an open, unpressurized gondola. Scientific data captured from Joe's jump was shared with U.S. research personnel for development of the space program. Today Felix and his specialized team hope to take what was learned from Joe's jumps more than 50 years ago and press forward to test the edge of the human envelope.

TonySuit Wingsuits

TonySuit Wingsuits
TonySuits Wingsuits dedicated to the design and manufacture of wingsuits for human flight! Clothing that makes skydivers and BASE jumpers fly.

Phoenix Fly

Phoenix Fly
Phoenix-Fly design, develop and produce state-of-the-art high performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE-jumping. Our product range also includes tracking pants, jackets and other accessories for skydiving and BASE.

The founder of Phoenix-Fly is Robert Pecnik, the designer of the first commercial wingsuit and co-founder of BirdMan International, Inc.
Robert started his skydiving career in Zagreb, Croatia in 1982. Since his early skydiving days, he has produced and tailored a number of RW suits.

In 1997, inspired by the late Patrick de Gayardon, Robert began working on a new wingsuit design. His first design was revolutionary, primarily in the field of safety. The quick wing release system provided the wingsuit flyer with the option to quickly and safely detach the wings in case of an emergency; thus enabling the jumper to continue his jump like a regular skydive by allowing complete movement of the arms.

Robert has worked hard to develop his designs into a broad range of performance wingsuits to meet the demanding challenges posed by human flight. Phoenix-Fly is continually evolving the realms of what is possible in the air, producing a number of different wingsuits to suit those who wish to fly their bodies to the absolute limit.

Robert has selected Jarno Cordia, Jeannoel Itzstein, Ed Pawlowski, James 'Macca' Macdonald and Mirko Schmidt as Phoenix-Fly Coach Examiners for the USA and Europe and will be responsible for training Phoenix-Fly Coaches around the world as well as providing advanced training.

Lutz Lüdtke, Jarno Cordia and James 'Macca' Macdonald joined the Phoenix-Fly Team in 2009 attending boogies, providing training and demo support. Macca is also responsible for marketing and media activities as well as representing Phoenix-Fly in the UK.

Jokke Sommer

Jokke Sommer
Jokke has always been fascinated by everything that could fly and dreamed one day to fly himself.

When he matured his childhood dream faded and he started a career in Motocross.
This sport became his biggest passion and an important part of his youth. After several years of riding, he started to Freestyle and built his own FMX park where he and his friends met to ride and fly.

During the summer of 2007 he and his close friend Jørgen decided, to start skydiving and they completed an AFF skydiving course. He sold his dirt bikes and became licensed skydiver. In 2008 he travelled to the United States and completed 250 jumps in two months to gain the required experience. After watching dozens of wing-suit flying videos, he had no doubt that this was what he wanted to do.

His non-jumping spare time was spent researching BASE Jumping

After returning to Norway he signed up for a BASE jumping course and travelled to Kjerag to make his first jump. Starting to BASE jump changed his life and his determination made him an expert athlete in the sport.
